Sorubi is a Psychologist with General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Her approach is person-centred and gentle, and she takes time to help her clients make sense of their situations and process their emotions. Sorubi has experience in isolated, rural and remote communities and within metropolitan cities. Sorubi works across the lifespan, with children and adults of all ages with a wide range of disabilities or mental health concerns.
Sorubi uses Animal-Assisted Therapy in her practice when appropriate. In addition to her Psychology qualifications and experience, Sorubi holds postgraduate qualifications in Divinity and has experience in Church Leadership. She can provide counselling with a Christian perspective on request. Sorubi is a person of the Christian faith.
Sorubi works in private psychology practice, based in Sydney, with a focus on telehealth and satellite services for rural communities around Australia. She also works in research translation in Neuroeducation, where she is the CEO & Founder of IDEALearning, an Australian Research Translation company.

Education & Experience
Sorubi was involved in schools as a teacher for over 15 years and has worked across the Public, Catholic and Independent sectors. In 2013, she was a K-12 ICT Consultant for Sydney Public Schools for the NSW Department of Education where she provided professional learning to a portfolio of 300+ schools. She later served six years in School Counselling in metropolitan Sydney and rural NSW after receiving the NSW Department of Education School Counsellor in Training Scholarship, a partnership with The University of Wollongong.
Sorubi completed postgraduate studies in psychology at the University of New England, focusing on affective neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and biopsychology, and she completed an additional year of coursework in developmental psychology. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Psychology with a Certificate in School Counseling from the University of Wollongong, where she researched Animal Assisted Therapy in Schools. Sorubi completed a Master of Educational Leadership at the University of New South Wales, focusing on Human Cognitive Architecture and Organizational Psychology, and researched Treatments for Reactive Attachment Disorder in Adolescents.
Sorubi attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Connecting Mind, Brain, and Education Institute in 2010. She presented a poster on Research Translation in Neuroeducation at The Spatial Intelligence and Learning Center’s Science of Learning Workshop at the International Mind, Brain & Education Society Pre-Conference in 2014, held in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. Sorubi is a member of the International Mind, Brain, and Education Society.
Sorubi’s interdisciplinary learning extends to several other tertiary degrees, including a Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) from the University of New South Wales. Her final year project was developing E-Learning Systems and Software Solutions for Education-Based Information Systems using Java, XML, and SQL/Oracle. She has experience in designing learning management systems and developed the IDEALearning website, which is used internationally. Sorubi received a Harvard Graduate School of Education Scholarship in 2010 to present an online Learning Management System prototype for schools at the Harvard Institute for School Leadership: Leadership for Large Scale Improvement. Additionally, Sorubi holds qualifications in Education from The Australian Catholic University, with a double major in teaching secondary Mathematics and Technology. Sorubi also holds a Graduate Diploma in Divinity from the Australian College of Theology, with interests in Hebrew language, Spirituality, Prayer, and Counseling (Pastoral Care & Chaplaincy). She was a Lay Minister at The St John’s Anglican Church Kindness Garden, Boorowa from 2022 to 2024.
Rest and Downtime
Sorubi is a person of faith who enjoys spending time with loved ones, both humans and animals, and she loves her garden. She has a small menagerie of animals and birds. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking from the garden, homesteading, reading, knitting, spending time outdoors, and relaxing at the beach. She loves having time to daydream and savour beautiful, quiet moments as they happen.
